SUBLIME is a video art piece created for a dome, born out of profound contemplation on life after death. It explores the concept of transcendence from a perspective that seamlessly integrates spiritual and scientific elements, free from religious connotations.
The foundational premise is rooted in the Law of Conservation of Energy, as supported by Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity, which posits that energy is never annihilated; it merely undergoes transformation. Consequently, SUBLIME embarks on a journey through life and creation, delving into the perpetual metamorphosis of energy.
The artwork finds inspiration in Einstein's Theory of Relativity, linking energy (E), mass (m), and the speed of light (c) through the iconic equation E=mc². This equation serves as a recurring motif in SUBLIME, illuminating the eternal interconnection between energy and matter.
Moreover, the piece is structured around the four fundamental elements: water, earth, fire, and air. These vital elements, symbolic of life, represent the ongoing transformation of energy in nature. Water flows and evaporates, the earth renews itself with each season, fire transforms matter, and air transports energy in its diverse forms. Each element signifies a facet of the perpetual transformation experienced by energy in the universe.
SUBLIME communicates the notion that, at the conclusion of a cycle, life doesn't terminate; rather, it signals the commencement of a new journey. It prompts viewers to contemplate the continuity and eternal metamorphosis of energy and life, presenting a visual and conceptual experience that aspires to transcend the confines of existence.
